Mason Quibell

Listen to Obituary

Mason was adopted from Freedom Paws Assistance Dogs on September 16th 2013 by Alex and Emily. He was believed to be a golden retriever Bernese mountain dog mix about 2-3 years old. After being found in the woods in southern Ohio, Mason or “Quest” was treated for heartworm while being trained to be a service dog. Although he did not make the cut as a service animal he would go on to become the emotional support of many.

Throughout his life he was a fur sibling to Eddie, Ellie, Beesly, Sadie, Big Momma, and Bella. He protected and cared for the many kids that loved his snuggles and was especially excited to see Elowyn who was sure to give “Bobo” snacks.

Mason enjoyed doing anything with Brian and Emily including camping, boating, hiking, and visits to West Jefferson to spend time with his grandparents. He really did not care what Mom and Dad were doing but he wanted to be there. When he saw the boat or camper getting loaded he got most excited even for a dog who did not like water. He was well know around Lake Erie for his chill demeanor and loved roaming the Girl Scouts' Camp Crooked Lane.

He passed in the arms of Brian and Emily in the great care of Dr. Prothman in Mount Gilead, Ohio on December 2nd 2025.
